The City of Beloit has released its 2022 Popular Annual Financial report for residents to see how the city performed during the last fiscal year.
Director of Strategic Communications Sarah Lock says General government expenditures for the city were almost $2 million less than budget largely related to reduced costs related to licenses and permits, when compared to the actual budgeted amount.
Lock says one of the things she likes about the report is it gives a break down of where the money in a tax bill goes, so for every $1 of property tax collected 36 cents goes to the city with the rest going to the school district, Rock County and Blackhawk Tech.
