The pizza business appears to be flourishing in Janesville.
Two competing national pizza chains are looking to build new stores in different parts of Janesville.
Senior Planner Brian Schweigl says it’s just a coincidence that both Dominoes and Pizza Hut will have proposals before the Plan Commission (Monday) night.
Schweigl says Pizza Hut wants to construct a smaller building without dine-in services adjacent to their current location on Court Street.
The second proposal is for Dominoes to redevelop the 3,900 square foot former Exclusive Company building on Milton Avenue into two commercial spaces, one of which they would occupy.
Both projects would require conditional use permits due to the proposed drive-thru facilities.
