A 42-year-old Beloit man will spend more than two decades behind bars after being convicted by of human trafficking and other charges.
In Rock County Court Wednesday morning Judge John Wood ordered Ieem Currie to serve 22-and-a-half years in prison and 17 years of extended supervision.
In addition to human trafficking, a jury convicted Currie in October of keeping a place of prostitution, maintaining a drug trafficking place, possession with intent to deliver cocaine, and child neglect.
Evidence at the trial showed that Currie exploited young women with free food, shelter, and drugs and then coerced them into giving him the money they received from acts of prostitution.
