U.S. Kubb Open returns to Beloit

kubb-2

Bring your A game on Saturday, August 12th for the 7th Annual U.S. Kubb Open in Beloit. Taking place at Pohlman Field in Beloit, this wooden throwing game, which originated in Sweden, allows for players of all skill levels to play, with winners taking home cash prizes.

“Regardless of your skill level, the kubb community is extremely friendly and welcoming,” explains Matthew Bosen, Director of Sales and Servicing with Visit Beloit, one of the event coordinators alongside Kubb United and Beloit Parks and Recreation. “You will have an opportunity to learn a fun game and interact with a lot of great kubb players from around the Midwest.”

This fast-growing yard game, pronounced like “koob,” continues to gain speed in North America, with Eau Claire, Wisconsin hosting the springtime U.S. National Kubb Championship, the largest in North America, making Wisconsin the leading Kubb state. “The game truly is fun for any age and is the perfect game for any Wisconsin backyard,” confirms Bosen.

Additionally, spectators and players will have a chance to support the Beloit Youth Hockey Association (BYHA) during the tournament, with 100% of the proceeds from their food and beverage sales, which will be on-hand for the tournament, benefiting BYHA.
