Milton to consider change to chicken ordinance

The City of Milton is considering a change to their current chicken ordinance.
City Clerk Jenny Salvo says at Tuesday night’s city council meeting, the council will consider increasing the amount of chickens allowed on a parcel of land from four to eight.
Salvo says at the August 1st council meeting, a resident requested the maximum be increased to ten, but the council instructed city staff to prepare an ordinance of a max number of eight.
Salvo says the council can either approve the ordinance and waive the second and third readings, approve the ordinance’s first reading and hold more readings at future meetings, or they can not approve the ordinance in its entirety.
