Summer season is construction season, and Janesville has seen its fair share of orange cones and “road closed” signs across the city the last few months.
Assistant City Engineer Lisa Wolf says it’s been a busy season and they’re planning to rehab about 11 miles of road this summer, with over 7 miles already completed and another 3.8 miles to go.
Wolf says things have been going pretty smoothly for the most part, and a dry start to the summer allowed them to get out to a good start and made the recent rainfall in the area not as harmful on the city’s timeline.
Another section of pavement reconstruction begins on Mayfair Drive and Woodman Road next week.
