The Wisconsin DNR is looking for volunteers passionate about the promoting safe hunting practices to serve as certified hunter education instructors.
DNR Hunter Education Administrator Michael Weber says like most of the state, Rock County is in need of additional instructors, and current data show the county has roughly 80 instructors spread throughout the county.
Weber says like many other volunteer organizations, hunter education instructors have felt the effects of a declining instructor core, and they currently sit at around 2,500 instructors throughout the state.
