Rain has forced crews to hold off a day on a temporary closure of part of North Main Street in downtown Janesville.
A project manager for the East Milwaukee Street rebuild downtown says crews will shut down north the crossing at East Milwaukee and Main Street for 10 days starting Tuesday. The closure was supposed to happen today, but crews changed plans because of rain.
Main street closes while crews replace that intersection as part of a months-long rebuild of East Milwaukee downtown. During that closure, the city will reopen nearby South Parker Drive as an alternate crossing downtown.
The project is on pace to wrap up in October.
