Three Janesville Police officers are injured in two separate incidents while trying to take suspects into custody Thursday.
In the first incident, at approximately 2:00pm, officers were sent to investigate a motor vehicle crash at the Milton Lawns Cemetery where the suspect Turner Beernink was on the scene. Beernink led officers on a foot chase and eventually had to be tased and was arrested.
In a separate incident, officers were investigating a child neglect complaint around 9:00pm Thursday at the Back Bar in Janesville. On arrival officers located a young child alone in a car and the adult responsible, Richard Gardner, had been in the bar for several hours.
Officers attempted to detain Gardner, who resisted arrest and ran back into the bar but was eventually taken into custody.
One officers sustained a broken arm in the Beernink incident, and two officers suffered minor injuries in the Gardner arrest.
