A 43-year-old Round Lake, Illinois man is under arrest for drunken driving for the fifth time after the Rock County Sheriff’s Office says he crashed into a sign in the Edgerton area.
According to a news release, Edgerton Police and Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a report of a vehicle running partially off the road and hitting a sign with its side mirror just before 5:30 Tuesday afternoon.
Edgerton police located and stopped the vehicle on North County Highway F near Brown Drive in the town of Fulton.
The driver, identified as Michael Berzankis was taken into custody after displaying signs of impairment.
Berkankis is expected to make his initial court appearance Wednesday afternoon.
