A film screening being put on by the Beloit International Film Festival is examining how first responders deal with post traumatic stress disorder.
BIFF Executive Director says the documentary PTSD 911 tells the stories of these first responders in a meaningful way and you get to know the subjects of the documentary and as an outside he was able to transport into the world through the film.
Milton Police Chief Scott Marquardt says when it comes to trauma and public safety, first responders ability to be resilient is an individual issue, and post traumatic stress isn’t necessarily about one incident but the cumulative effect it has on a first responder.
The screening of PTSD 911 takes place October 28th at the Blackhawk Technical College Conference Center.
