A popular Milton ice cream place is up for sale.
Kelly McPherson, a Janesville real estate broker marketing the property, says the Cone Zone’s 12-year-run has galvanized the ice cream drive in on Milton’s west side as a favorite of Milton residents, and now the spot and the business itself is being listed for sale.
McPherson says the owner, Robert Tracy, wants to retire, but he and his staff want to see the business remain an ice cream shop. She says staff have told Tracy they want to stay on even if the Cone Zone sells.
The Cone Zone is located along the bustling West High Street corridor, next to Milton High School’s Campus, and Schilberg Park, which is the busiest youth sports complex in Milton.
Real estate listings show the 444 W. High St. property and the Cone Zone business are being sold in a package deal for $600,000.
McPherson says the Cone Zone listing went live Tuesday night, and her firm already has gotten phone calls on the property.
She says some are prospective buyers, others are callers who simply want to voice the hope the Cone Zone will remain and ice cream shop.
