Whitewater police have arrested a man accused of holding a woman against her will for several days.
According to a news release, Whitewater Police Officers took Yefferson Guzman Rodriquez into custody shortly after 11am Monday morning.
The release says officers initially spotted Guzman Rodriguez in the 900 block of Highland Street and he immediately fled on foot, officers then chased Guzman Rodriguez a couple of blocks before they caught up to him and arrested him in the 300 block of South Prince Street.
According to the release, Guzman Rodriguez resisted officers. Police had to use a taser to subdue him.
Lincoln Elementary School in Whitewater was placed in a “hold-lock status” during a period when Guzman Rodriguez was seen nearby.
Guzman Rodriguez faces multiple charges including kidnapping, false imprisonment, 1st degree recklessly engendering safety, and resisting an officer.
