| By Big Radio News Staff |
Janesville’s branch campus of the Universities of Wisconsin will remain open, but a few of the system’s other satellite campuses are set to shutter next year.
In an announcement, UW President Jay Rothman announces its UW-Oshkosh’s Fond du Lac campus and UW-Milwaukee’s Washington County campus will no longer offer in-person instruction.
UW-Plattville’s satellite campus at Richland Center will close fully.
Rothman says the moves come as enrollments at some of UW’s branch campuses continue to plummet. The closures would come in June.
UW-Whitewater’s Rock County campus in Janesville is one of 10 local branches the university says is set to remain fully open.
UW-Whitewater Chancellor Corey King released a written statement saying the University is investing in U-Rock and is committed to providing transformational educational experiences in Rock County.
UW-Rock County reports this fall its on-campus enrollment has grown 17 percent under a handful of new, 4-year programs launched here.
