Rock County Health Department unveils new overdose data dashboard

The Rock County Public Health Department is working to make citizens aware of the updated and improved online overdose data dashboard.
Public Health Strategist Shari Faber says the dashboard includes mortality data and toxicology information from vital records or death certificates, emergency room data, ambulance and emergency medical services data, and prescribing data relevant to understanding overdose trends in Rock County.
Faber says so far in 2023 fentanyl has been involved in 89 percent of overdose deaths in Rock County.
Faber says in addition to the overdose dashboard, citizens can sign up to receive spike alerts when an unusually high number of overdoses are reported by several sources.
Members of the public can learn more about the current opioid epidemic at a fentanyl town hall and NARCAN training happening at the Beloit Public Library on November 2nd from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m.
