Last week Governor Tony Evers announced that he would allocate $15 million in ARPA funding to the proposed indoor athletic and conference center at Uptown Janesville.
A day later the Rock County Board of Supervisors Finance Committee voted four to one to remove $500,000 in funding for the project from their proposed 2024 budget.
Janesville City Manager Kevin Lahner had requested $1.5 million from the County for the Woodman’s Sports and Convention Center.
The County Board could still amend the budget and put the funding back in when they meet to adopt the 2024 spending plan November 14th.
