Man turns gun on himself after fleeing from police in Rock, Green counties

A man who allegedly robbed a Dollar General store in Orfordville Tuesday crossed county lines and eventually turned a gun on himself, according to authorities.
According to a release, Green County Law Enforcement agencies were notified around 2pm Tuesday of an armed robbery which occurred in the Rock County Village and shortly before 3pm a Monroe police officer located the suspect’s vehicle in the vicinity of State Highways 69 and 11 in Monroe.
The release says when the officer attempted to stop the suspect vehicle, it fled southbound through Monroe before stopping at a local business parking lot.
Upon stopping, the driver reportedly exited the vehicle, pointed a handgun in the direction of Monroe Police officers, then turned the handgun on himself; reportedly shooting himself.
The suspect was pronounced dead at the scene, and the investigation is ongoing.
