Rock County Board shoots down last minute 3% cut to budget

A last second change to the proposed 2024 Rock County gets shut down late into the county board’s budget adoption meeting Tuesday.
The amendment, introduced by District 7 Supervisor Ron Woodman, would’ve cut the budget by 3% across the board.
Woodman says he introduced the amendment to bring the budget down and address concerns that not only will this year’s budget see a large increase, but so will next years.
Supervisor Kevin Leavy voiced his frustrations with the last minute amendment, saying to expect the administration to tell the board where they were going to make cuts was insane and they were wasting time and residents expect better of the board.
The amendment ultimately failed on a 22 to 5 vote.
