Beloit fire department set to get new thermal imaging cameras

Some grant funding is allowing the Beloit Fire Department to upgrade and purchase some new equipment.
Chief Daniel Pease says the $41,000 grant is being awarded through the FireHouse Subs Public Safety Foundation grant and will allow them to buy new thermal cameras.
Pease says the cameras are a vital tool that helps first responders to see through smoke and monitor the fire’s spread, so they can quickly visualize a plan of attack, locate hot spots, and save lives.
The City Council unanimously approved the accepting of the grant.
