Milton’s spring city council race looks as though it’s shrunk since late last week.
As of Tuesday’s 5 p.m. nomination deadline, council incumbents Ryan Holbrook and Eric Stockman have officially filed to run in the April election, along with a third candidate, Ken Smith, who is a member of the city’s plan commission.
The council has three open seats in the election.
Incumbent Lynda Clark’s seat is open, but in November she announced she would not seek re-election.
The turnout changes the complexion of the council race.
The city had scheduled a special council meeting last week to discuss the potential of a primary after multiple people pulled candidacy packets, and at least six of them initially signaled they’d likely run.
