Milwaukee man sentenced to prison for stealing donuts and leading police on high-speed chase

A 25-year-old Milwaukee man who led the Rock County Sheriff’s Office on a high-speed chase after stealing donuts from Lions Quick Mart will spend a year-and-a-half behind bars.
According to online court records, Jayvon McFarling plead guilty Thursday morning in Rock County Court to a single count of first-degree recklessly endangering safety. Additional charges of fleeing an officer, two counts of bail jumping, and retail theft were dismissed but read into the record.
McFarling was accused of stealing six-and-a-quarter dollars worth of donuts from the gas station in the 16-hundred block of West Highway 14 in January of 2022.
McFarling told authorities he fled due to fears of being beaten by law enforcement, admitting he was traveling at speeds of more than 120 miles and hour.
He was originally found not competent to stand trial and was committed until he regained competency.
In addition to the prison time, Judge Karl Hanson ordered McFarling to serve two years of extended supervision.
