An attorney identifies his client as the person of interest in the shooting death of a married couple at an Elkhorn bar last week.
Criminal defense attorney Russell Jones told TMJ4 in Milwaukee that he had been retained by Thomas Routt Jr.’s family.
Routt is being held in the Walworth County Jail on a corrections hold because of a previous criminal conviction.
According to his attorney, Routt maintains his innocence and says he was not involved in the case.
The shooting happened just after midnight last Thursday at the Sports Page Bar.
The two fatalities of the shooting were identified as 37-year-old Gina Weingart, who worked as a bartender at the establishment, and 33-year-old Emerson Weingart.
