A 21-year-old Janesville man takes a plea deal in a child pornography case.
According to the criminal complaint, Janesville Police received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about a Snapchat account belonging to Brandon Reitan which contained images and videos of prepubescent girls.
Officers obtained a warrant and searched Reitan’s home where they found the phone he used to log in to Snapchat.
Janesville Police say Reitan admitted to receiving child pornography because he thought he could make money off of the videos.
In Rock County Court Wednesday Reitan plead guilty to three counts of possession of child pornography, and possession of THC. Two additional counts of possession of child pornography and a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia were dismissed but read into the record.
Reitan remains free on a signature bond until his sentencing on May 5th.
