The Janesville Branch of the American Association of University Women is partnering with the Fort Atkinson branch to host Tech Savvy, a one-day conference for young women interested in STEM.
Co-Chair Pat Phillips says one of their missions is equity in education and employment opportunities, and in some of the STEM fields there is a serious inequity between men and women; so the hope is they can get young women interested in those careers.
Phillips says they’ll have a number of workshops available during the day, including how to use forensic evidence to breakdown a crime scene, an opportunity to create circuit boards, and even dissecting and learning about the anatomy of a cow.
Registration and a full list of workshops can be found by googling “Tech Savyy UWW”.
