A newly launched grant program in Beloit hopes to make housing more readily available.
Economic Development Director Drew Pennington says the purpose of the grants are to offer financial incentives to create new housing units in the upper floors of their downtown buildings.
Pennington says eligible improvements include upgrading electrical & plumbing systems, adding bathrooms & kitchens, windows
and doors, painting, flooring, and some soft costs; and the minimum project cost is $20,000.
Grants will be awarded on a first come, first serve basis while funds are available.
