A 27-year-old Janesville man is charged with possession of child pornography in Rock County Court.
According to the criminal complaint, in July, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a tip from Yahoo indicating that a user had emailed child pornography to themselves. Yahoo provided an IP address that was registered to Dakota Stewart of Janesville.
A Janesville Police Detective reviewed the flagged file and found that it contained a video of a nude pre-pubescent child engaged in sexual activity.
A Janesville Police officer conducted a traffic stop on Stewart on February 14th for expired registration and placed him under arrest.
A search warrant executed on Stewart’s Starling Lane home yielded several cell phones.
Police say Stewart lives with his fiancé and two young girls ages three and nine.
