Beloit Police make an arrest in connection with a Christmas Day shooting.
Beloit Police say officers were dispatched to the intersection of Porter and Yates Avenues shortly before 11:00 a.m. on December 25th on the report that a 19-year-old woman had been shot while driving a car.
According to the criminal complaint officers viewed surveillance video in the area and identified 17-year-old Jahmir Smith as a suspect.
According to a Facebook post, a Beloit Police officer observed Smith leaving a residence in the 1200 block of Dewey Avenue on Thursday and took him into custody following a short foot chase.
Smith is charged with a single count of attempted first-degree intentional homicide in Rock County Court.
