Authorities are investigating an apparent shooting reported Tuesday night on Milton’s east side.
Milton Police Chief Brandon Sachse confirmed in an email that a man was being treated for “non life-threatening injuries” after a report at about 5:03 p.m. Tuesday of a person in the street with a gunshot wound near the intersection of Plumb Street and Larch Lane.
Sachse says Milton police and the Rock County Sheriff’s Office responded and are investigating the incident. He says Lakeside Fire and Rescue transported the man for further treatment.
As of Tuesday night, Sachse says police have no one in custody, and authorities have offered no other details on the incident. Sachse says there’s no ongoing threat to the neighborhood and the general public.
The location of the incident is about two blocks south of where police say they arrested a man earlier this month for shooting a gun at the ceiling of his Milton apartment unit, and firing a bullet up into another apartment unit. That shooting led to an hours-long standoff and a SWAT team response.
