The Rock County Board of Supervisors voted Thursday night to table a decision to give $500,000 to the Rock County Children’s Museum’s capital facility campaign until their April 25th meeting.
District 3 Supervisor Debi Towns says she was struggling to put tax dollars towards the project, and thought the board needed to re-focus on issues such as housing to spend ARPA funds on.
District 26 Supervisor Tricia Clasen says she thought it would have been a good use of ARPA funds because the museum would help with covering gaps in education for young kids.
The museum was able to secure $2 million towards the campaign from the city of Janesville earlier this week.
