Another street along the Center Avenue corridor in Janesville will be closed for a tear-up starting Friday.
Anyone traversing the Fourth Ward might want to avoid the entire 8-block span of Johnson Street.
The tear up is for utility work and on Johnson between Center Avenue and South High Street. The closure runs in tandem with a major tear-up of the adjacent stretch of Center Avenue on the city’s west and south sides.
Neighborhood traffic can traverse much of Johnson during the closure, and residents will have use of their driveways to reach the street. Thru traffic will want to reroute.
The city of Janesville plans to locate temporary city transit bus stops at these locations:
— The northwest and southeast corners of West Holmes and Linn streets.
— The northwest corner of Rockport Road and Linn Street.
