A 20-year-old Freeport, Illinois man who was arrested last month in Clinton following an hours-long standoff is bound over for trial.

Rock County Sheriff’s Deputy David Cliffe testified at Dayvon Davis’ preliminary hearing this week in Rock County Court on charges of possession of a firearm by an out-of-state felon, second degree recklessly endangering safety, obstructing an officer, and theft.

Davis stood mute to the charges and not guilty pleas were entered on his behalf.

According to the criminal complaint, the victim called 9-1-1 and told them Davis had pointed a handgun at her and threatened to kill her before having a standoff with police and eventually surrendering.

Davis is currently being held on a $50,000 cash bond.
