The upcoming Janesville Area Crop walk is raising money for organizations both local and worldwide.
Coordinator Kathy Holcombe says 100% of donations go directly to support missions to end hunger, with 75% of all donations going to Church World Service for global missions. A quarter of the cash will stay local. It’ll support ECHO, a local food bank.
Holcombe says the walk has netted $50,000 in donations in two of the last five years. The group hopes to raise at least that much this year.
The walk runs April 28 at Cargill United Methodist Church, in Janesville. Registration starts at 1 p.m. April 28 at the church.
