A 38-year-old Beloit man is bound over trial on charges after he held a baby at gunpoint and fled police during a traffic stop, later crashing in Illinois.
Monday morning Ronald Hicks waived his right to a preliminary hearing on three counts of kidnapping, possession of a firearm by a felon, first degree recklessly endangering safety, battery, fleeing an officer, second degree recklessly endangering safety, possession with intent to delivery cocaine, possession with intent to deliver THC, and maintaining a drug trafficking place.
According to the criminal complaint, after holding a man and his baby hostage at gunpoint, Hicks led police on a car chase with speeds exceeding 80mph in Beloit before crashing his car in Winnebago County.
Hicks is due back in Rock County Court Tuesday for his arraignment.
He’s currently being held in the Rock County Jail on a $200,000 cash bond.
