Beloit Police say they are working diligently to track down two more suspects authorities think were involved in the April 5 shooting death of 20-year-old Jaiden Benitez of Janesville.
16-year-old Andre J. Rainey Jr. was arrested April 11 on charges of party to the crime of first degree intentional homicide, attempted first-degree intentional homicide, two counts of attempted armed robbery, and possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent of a felony.
According to a criminal complaint, 16-year-old Andre Rainey Jr. and another suspect pulled guns on Benitez and a passenger in his vehicle during a drug deal. When Benitez tried driving away, Rainey’s accomplice fired several shots, one of which fatally struck him. A third suspect was seen on doorbell cameras running away from the scene with the shooter and Rainey.
Rainey is due back in Rock County Court for adjourned initial hearing Tuesday.
