Janesville’s Roosevelt Elementary School has a new principal.
Janesville School District’s board voted Tuesday to hire former area grade school teacher and guidance counselor Kelly Kaminski.
The district says Kaminski starts July 1 on a one-year contract that’s worth $113,500.
Kaminski takes the helm at the east-side school after spending a year as a summer school principal in the Clinton School District.
She has experience teaching second grade in Beloit School District, and she’s worked as a home bound-alternate placement teacher. She’s also served as a school guidance counselor.
The district says an 11-person community committee chose Kaminski from an initial pool of 20 applicants, which the panel whittled to six finalists.
