Northern Rock County residents no longer have to drive to Beloit or Janesville to access free NARCAN and fentanyl test strips.
Rock County Public Health Strategist Shari Faber says a new, newspaper box-style vending machine is now at the Lakeside Fire-Rescue District’s headquarters in downtown Edgerton.
Faber says the Rock County Public Health Department continues to see fentanyl overdoses, increasingly in cocaine that’s been unknowingly laced with the deadly synthetic opioid.
Free NARCAN vending machines are also available in several locations in Rock County, including the Rock County jail, the Beloit Public Library, and HealthNet.
