The Beloit Police Department and Community Action’s Beloit Fresh Start program participants are celebrating the friendship that has blossomed over the last year.

Community Action director of Learning and Adult Preparation Nikia Morton says officers have been working with the youth, teaching self defense, facilitating mentoring groups, and play pick-up games of basketball.

The public is invited to watch Beloit Police and participants of the Beloit Fresh Start Program compete in a friendly kickball game at 11:00 a.m. on May 15th at ABC Supply Stadium.

Beloit Fresh Start is an education and job-training program for at-risk youth, providing opportunities for youth to help themselves while helping others in the community.
