Beloit police: More gun violence reported over weekend as Hackett neighborhood shooting injures 1

More violence plays out in Beloit over the weekend.
Beloit police say one person wound up in the hospital after they got hit by gunfire in the 700 block of Oak Street shortly before 4 p.m. Sunday.
That’s in the city’s Hackett neighborhood on the west side.
Police say the person shot drove themselves to a hospital for treatment of injuries authorities say were non-life threatening.
Police are investigating the shooting. Anyone with information should submit a tip through Greater Beloit Area Crime Stoppers at 608-362-7463 or via Beloit Crime Stopper’s electronic tip line  call Rock County 911’s non-emergency number.
Big Radio is working to bring you more details on the shooting. It came a hours after police fatally shot a person in a separate incident on the city’s Merrill neighborhood Sunday morning. In that incident, police had responded to a person they say was rushing at someone else while armed with two blades.
