A 23-year-old Beloit man is accused of pointing a gun at the security guard for a town of Beloit bar after being thrown out for claiming to be in the cartel, and asking permission to sell drugs at the establishment.

According to the criminal complaint, the Rock County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Toxic Bar in town of Beloit on Sunday after receiving a report of an armed subject.

A deputy made contact with the security guards who had detained Oscar Armando Mejia Umana on the ground. They indicated that Mejia Umana had been asked to leave the establishment, and that he returned from the parking lot with a gun, at which point they tackled him.

A firearm was located on the ground near Mejia Umana.

Mejia Umana faces charges of second degree recklessly endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon, disorderly conduct, possession of a firearm while intoxicated, and carrying a handgun where alcohol is sold and consumed.

He made his initial appearance in Rock County Court Monday where cash bond was set at $2000.
