Rock County sees more gun violence — this time on Janesville’s east side.
Janesville police say they found shell casings littering the ground and a house struck by bullets in the 2200 block of Green Valley Drive. This was after several neighbors reported gunfire just before 11:30 p.m. on Monday.
Police say they recovered bullets that had hit a house on the block. No one was injured in the shooting.
It’s the latest in an uptick in reported gun violence in Rock County. Sunday afternoon, a person in Beloit drove themselves to a hospital after being shot in the city’s Hackett neighborhood.
Also on Sunday, authorities say police arrested a man they say pointed a loaded gun at a bouncer at a town of Beloit bar.
Authorities continue to investigate the Janesville shooting. Anyone with information can call Janesville police at 608-755-3100, the Rock County 911 Center’s non-emergency number.
People also can contact Janesville Area CrimeStoppers by phone at 608-756-3636 or on the P3 app.
