Local establishments are finding ways to attract customers during the Janesville Town Square Gran Prix bicycle races next month.
A new bar on North Franklin Street run by the same owner as O’Riley and Conway’s Irish Pub is looking to set up a patio on West Milwaukee Street during the event.
The Franklin Street Tavern is located at 13 N. Franklin St. — the same location as the former Steve & Holly’s Restaurant and Lucky Ducky Diner.
Owner Ed Quaerna says Franklin Street Tavern just opened. He said it’s only open weekends for now, but eventually it’ll launch full-time hours. It’ll run as a specialty pizza and burger restaurant.
Janesville City Clerk Lori Stottler says an application for a temporary extension of premises goes before the Alcohol License Advisory Committee Tuesday.
