Janesville police seek to identify a man they say might have tried to kidnap a child Monday morning.
According to a release from the Janesville Police Department, a first-grade student was walking to school in the 300 block of Lincoln Street at 8 a.m. when a man in a two-door, red car pulled up.
Police say the man told the student he knew their mother. The student challenged the man’s claim, and then ran to Wilson Elementary School.
Police have no further description of the man.
Janesville Police say anyone with information should call the police department.
