O’Riley and Conway’s Irish Pub in downtown Janesville gets the go-ahead to build a two-story addition that would house brewing and distillery operations, additional seating, and a live music stage.
The 4,250-square-foot addition would take place of about five of 20 off-street parking spots in a private lot next to the current O’Riley & Conway’s.
Associate Planner Trae Meyer says customers at Cozy Inn, a Chinese restaurant in the upstairs above O’Riley & Conway’s, will benefit from a new elevator planned as part of the bar’s expansion. The elevator would allow customers to reach Cozy Inn without trekking up a set of stairs off West Milwaukee Street.
The Janesville Plan Commission approved a conditional use permit for the project in a unanimous vote Monday night.
