Four new houses are coming to Beloit after a pair of local organizations get funding from the city.
Community Development Director Julie Christensen says Community Action will receive $150,000 to build one home on Forest Avenue, while the Wisconsin Partnership for Housing Development is set to get $399,000 to build three homes around the city.
Christensen says both groups have committed to getting those projects started this year, and they’re excited about getting more affordable housing built and on the market.
The money comes from the Rock County HOME Consortium, and city still has about $400,000 in funds to allocate to add more affordable housing in the city.
