A 24-year-old Janesville woman accused of striking and nearly killing a motorcyclist while driving with a suspended license last month makes her initial appearance in Rock County Court.
According to the criminal complaint, Janesville Police were dispatched to the intersection of East Milwaukee Street and North Pontiac Drive just before 5:00 p.m. on April 13th on the report of a vehicle versus motorcycle crash.
First responders found a motorcycle on its side and a man in the road with good Samaritans providing first aid.
Investigation determined that that motorcyclist was head east on Milwaukee Street when Skyla Richardson turned in front of him while trying to pull into Kwik Trip. The motorcyclist tried to break but he struck Richardson’s SUV and was thrown over the hood.
Richardson appeared before Rock County Court Commissioner Jack Hoag Tuesday morning on a charge of knowingly operating a motor vehicle while suspended causing great bodily harm. Hoag set a $1000 signature bond and ordered Richardson not to drive at all.
