GEA cuts ribbon on new facility in Janesville

One out of every three chicken nuggets produced in the world uses technology from a company that recently opened a new repair facility in Janesville.
The new 80,000 square foot GEA Mechanical facility on South Wuthering Hills Drive will employ about 74 people.
The company has a goal of making the facility net zero by 2040.
The Janesville City Council approved a tax incremental financing agreement for the project back in July of 2022.
Although the facility just recently opened, the company has already broke ground on an expansion to develop new forms of proteins that can be lab-grown and produced.
