Beloit police say they arrested a teenage male in an earlier, armed robbery while responding to a shooting on the city’s west side Thursday night.
A city of Beloit spokeswoman says police recovered evidence of a shooting Thursday night in the 1200 block of Bluff Street.
Police say a fight sparked the shooting, but no people or homes got struck in the gunfire.
While they were investigating the gunfire, officers say they arrested a 15-year-old male in an unrelated, earlier armed robbery. No other details were available.
The shooting marks the latest violence in the city, and it was alongside another, separate violent encounter Thursday afternoon on Beloit’s west side: a blade attack police say left a woman injured and prompted police to shoot a man dead who they say was wielding a sharp object and threatening people in the 2000 block of Frederick Street.
