Multiple agencies respond to early morning Town of Union fire

| By Big Radio News Staff |
A residential fire in the Town of Union early Monday morning caused substantial damage, according to Brooklyn Fire and EMS officials.
According to a release, shortly after 5:30am Monday the Brooklyn Fire and EMS Protection District was alerted for a residential fire in the 16000 block of West Holt Road.
The property owner reported the fire by calling 911. A Rock County Sheriff deputy arrived to see flames coming from the roof of the home.
The home is in an area not serviced by municipal hydrants. That required fire crews to truck in 17,000 gallons of water to fight the fire.
Multiple local agencies responded to the blaze, including Rock County Sheriff’s Office, and the Evansville and Footville fire departments.
Brooklyn Fire and EMS officials don’t have an official damage cost estimate, but they say no one was injured in the fire.
Fire officials say the residents reported they had time to evacuate safely thanks to functioning smoke alarms in the house.
