Cash bail is set at $1,000 for the 20-year-old Delavan man arrested with stolen guns following a shots fired incident in the town of La Prairie Saturday night.
According to the Rock County Sheriff’s Office, deputies went to the 800 block of Milton-Shopiere Road just before 11:30 p.m. for a report of shots fired.
Deputies received a vehicle plate number and description, and spotted the vehicle near Janesville. Officers say they conducted what a “high-risk traffic stop.” They arrested the driver, Luis Villegas, after police siezed two guns and ammunition authorities say they found inside the vehicle.
Villegas is charged with receiving stolen firearms as a repeater and disorderly conduct. He was also cited for underage drinking, and having open intoxicants in the vehicle.
Authorities say an Indiana police agency reported the guns as stolen.
