Janesville woman charged with attacking boyfriend with knife

scales-of-justice-2

A 33-year-old Janesville woman is accused of violently attacking her live-in boyfriend with a knife after he confronted her about dating another man.
According to the criminal complaint, Janesville Police were called to an apartment on Anthony Avenue just after 11:30 on Monday night on the report of a domestic disturbance.
The victim told police that Mirian Elizabeth Sanchez Escobar was angry that he called the man she was with when she claimed she was going to a church function, so she began slashing his couch cushions with a knife.
When he asked her to stop, she came at him with the knife, and he had to grab the end of it to avoid being stabbed, at which point his fingers were cut. After lunging at the victim again with the knife, Sanchez Escobar called police herself.
Sanchez Escobar is charged in Rock County Court with first-degree recklessly endangering safety by use of a dangerous weapon, criminal damage to property by use of a dangerous weapon, and disorderly conduct by use of a dangerous weapon, all with domestic abuse enhancers.
